I wanted a tungsten one, and she obliged. I broke the first one (don'tbounce them off a tile floor just to see them go ten feet high and hear the high pitched ring, the vibrations will crack them, after two years of doing this i cracked mine.), the company warrantied it, the second one was stolen at an Indian roach motel, bought an identical third one. Wear a rubber one most of the time.

She has multiple times, it always just ends up with her having 20-30 she likes and asking me what I want, to which I tell her just to just pic what she thinks is nice, to which she goes back to looking and pics our another group with different qualities crazy

Well then I guess what she's really telling you is you need to decide... grow a pair and make a choice..

I've noticed an inverse relationship between the cost of the ring/ cost of wedding, and the longevity of the marriage.

If she works with her hands get her a silicone ring. YOU ESPECIALLY need one.
The last thing you or her want is ring avulsion. Something gets caught between ring and finger and pulls off finger.

I don't mean to be harshly practical. This is the woman you will potentially spend the rest of your life with.

You can still be practical and enjoy yourselves...

Remind her that the less that you spend on the ring and the wedding, the more you can spend on the honeymoon... Or starting out in life. Spending months or years staying home and eating Ramen because you're paying off jewelery or a wedding will likely take all the joy out of that shiny jewelery or that "special" day.

Just a thought.

See if you can get a piece from her family and one from yours combine stones from both to make one family piece doesn't have to be diamonds or super flashy but something from your heart.

When my wife and I got married, we had already started our family! Jewelry was low on our list of needs. If I remember correctly, I spent about 200 on her rings, and little on mine. I promised her that some day, she’d get the ring she wanted.
That was 35 years ago, and my promise was honored several years ago.
You can get a nice ring now for under 800 bucks, and as time goes on, your wealth will grow.

Cheapest ring I could find and that made her happy 10 years later she designed her own ring and had it made with sapphires and diamonds lots of money but she got what she wanted and I had more money than. Best I can tell you a fancy ring or wedding does not make a good marriage. Best wishes always

not sure what's wrong with a keg for the boys , your right you can't cook for your own wedding you will be busy that day unless you can make Nesco roasters of gumbo to be served and get someone else to handle the making it hot that day and getting the rice ready.

if I am real honest we had my Mother-in-laws wedding

we were young she offered to pay , neither of us really cared as long as our guests were there mostly family we had like maybe 10 non family guests

by a few years later we were saying if we had to do it over , pig roast in the park would be our preferred wedding and that hasn't changed. 24 years later we are saying the same thing.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I did get it on sale.

In 2001 i saved up and spent 4000.00 on a nice dimond and a simple gold band. We had it appraised this year for insurance and it had almost quadrupled in value so a nice stone isn't a bad investment. If things go as planned it won't ever be sold so value might be irrelevant.

Geez. I thought this diamond ring thing died years ago?

Once a girl shows her ring to her best friends and they all do the " WOW " thing, that ring is nothing but a " im married" thing.
No one will even notice/ look/ comment.
Save the money and buy a GOOD rifle for her. wink

1986 paid $450.00 for the set, a stone fell out and she couldn't find it and I told her I'd be happy to buy you a new set if you wished. We went and looked and I was like oh my Lordy! 4 to 20 thousand, I was in shock, but opened my mouth, lol. So we looked and she says I just want my rings so we got a new stone and all rebuilt for about $1200.00. Worth every cent plus much more.
