Do they work with standard trap pans?

I use them with sterling and pit pans. Have never tried them on regular pans.

If you clean up the pan notch to be nice and square, they work ok. Just got to be careful engaging the dog. You do have to get the correct length of dog to fit the trap.

Ive got a bunch if duke #3s with the sloped rod dogs and they are a really sweet adjustment. But yes, just measure the length if your stock dog and buy as close to the appropriate size as you can.

Yep, and you can bend the frame where the dog eye attaches, for minor adjustment if the dog lengths can't be matched up exactly.

Another option is to buy the top dog heavy duty dogs which are a thicker traditional shaped dog....Prefer a big bench vise to close the dog eyes on those heavier makes.

Thanks guys.

I like that the rod dogs have a night latch already, I'm trying to avoid filing the latch on a dozen traps. I will square up the notch on the new pans, I just wasn't sure how it would engage being the nothch is a lot thicker than a pit pan. I use a vice to close up the rod dogs also. I have never been able to get all the slop out just using vice grips.
