That is the only caliber I shoot coyotes and cats with when calling. I can kill anything out to 300 yards if I have a solid rest. I have a Savage with the synthetic stock and had a buddy rework the trigger to be crisp and light.

I had one of those red pad bull barrel M77s many years ago it was a great shooting rifle, but at the time there were no coyotes where I was at and it was to much gun for foxes and bobcats at the distance I was shooting at and it wasn't legal for deer at that time so I traded it off for something else, now there are more coyotes than anything else and it is legal to deer hunt with, kind of wish I had it back

Sako Forester launches 55 grain Sierra SBT to say it is a tack driver is an understatement and super fur friendly as long as not under 75 yards if 75 or less some sewing will be needed, at 200 plus seldom an exit hole.

Of course, mine doesn’t get out much no real call in the woods where I usually hunt where most shots are less then a hundred yards or way less

Mines a savage 110 has a medium weight barrel on it and with the right load will do one hole groups all day long, it’s also pre acurtrigger but have never felt the need to upgrade it’s always been a good light crisp trigger

I am pretty new to shoot it. But I have had nothing but good luck out of it. After some advice here on a night time calling gun, I went with it. I have been impressed with the killing power of it. It’s way more impressive than the .223 on coyotes. Have never really shot groups with mine. I use a hot 3” steel plate to sight in, shots are center on it. Seems to be one that shoots most anything well.

Last few gun shows, and on line, not much new brass out there. Plus haven't seen 22 250 ammo either. I bought 300 pcs., Lapua brass couple years back and new Remington. Have used annealing machine, making my brass last alot longer.
Danny Clifton, mine shoots 3380, and I have over shot several yotes aiming at there back also , If I'm shooting under 100 yrs., I aim for belly, they sometimes run short distance. Flat shooting round. Putting a 22 ARC together with 77 gr TMK, then will find out how it shots up against 22 250

Have had 6 beers so maybe I'm confused?

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Have an old top tang safety heavy barreled m77 .22-250 I paid 400 bucks for 22 years ago with a Nikon no model scope that’s awesome glass. Can almost see in the dark with it. Trigger is a little heavy but it shoots those super fast white box winchester 45 grains really well.

I shoot a Remington 700 BDL varmint special, heavy barrel , 22/250 ..
Also a Remington 700 ADL , 22/250 , custom thumb hole stock , 22/250..
Both have trigger work done , and sport high quality, varible scopes..

Not many wood chucks around , like there used to be ..

I have that same gun. Bought it probably 35 years ago. VERY accurate and when looking at the inside of the barrel with a bore scope it looks like a pitted railroad track. Killed a lot of deer with it. Always did head or neck shots with 52 grain hollow points but a few years ago I tried 60 grain nosler partitions and shot behind the shoulder. Always passed Thru and never ran too far. Then I started shooting siera 63 grain smp and they are super accurate and did even better on the deer. Disclaimer- all the deer I shoot with it are does and not past 300 yards.

What’s confusing

Also have a older model 70 in .225 Winchester but try finding ammo for it nowadays so it’s just a safe queen now but it was my first calling gun ballistics almost the same as 22/250 so no real need for it but I don’t really ever sell guns
