Washington insiders operate by a system of preference and protection. They spend a lot of money putting themselves into the a situation where they are the ones pulling the strings and don't like it when those strings get cut.

I can't find any money from Koch to Murky over the past five years. There are some others who donated to her that aren't "on our side" though

To him 12 million is like a couple blanket beaver to most trappers maybe even less of an impact on him. If his funds have as stated above got several people elected it is not all wasted funds in his eyes.

Keep in mind that there are multiple Koch family members and they don't all see eye to eye. Can't paint them all with the same brush.

Some of their money is behind Cato and American Heritage. Not your usual rabid lefty groups.
