I agree that immigration will be a major issue in the election, but Mayorkas will never be impeached. I think he's just doing was he's been told to do.

The only two methods for removal of a cabinet officer are for the president to fire them or the congress to impeach and convict.

Since Biden won't, an impeachment and removal is the only option and would be a mark against Biden and possible bolster to a Biden impeachment.

The simple truth is impeachment has lost it's impact. Up until Clinton it had only been used twice on top level persons. Once against President Andrew Johnson and once against a Supreme Court Justice. In both cases they were not convicted in the Senate. It's a pretty much drastic last option.

(There have been many lower level impeachments of federal judges, though, for obvious crimes such as bribery)

The mere threat of impeachment was enough to get Nixon to resign even though he had committed no crime. His deal was the withholding of evidence from congress, which is not in and of itself a criminal offense.

Clinton survived an impeachment where he actually did commit crimes. And politically ended up wearing it as a badge of honor.

Then Pelosi rammed through not just one but two kangaroo court impeachments of Trump and the whole world saw them as the farce they were.

So, IMO, this will end up going nowhere as the Senate now has the greenlight to not take it as it should be, a serious constitutional duty.

Our fidelity to the Constitution and even the Constitution itself has become of no more use than toilet paper.

My thinking is the house leadership knows at this point impeaching Biden is a waste of time in spite of having all the evidence needed. So maybe they could pick off Mayorkas hoping Biden might cut him loose and maybe start a death spiral for the administration. Even failing that it'll have to be in the media going into and throughout the 2024 lead up to the election.

In short, politics as usual.

Agreed, there will always be underlings who will carry out policy. Even obviously evil and illegal policy.

We need another Nuremberg trial and the following hangings to curtail that.

Mayorkas was born in Cuba. Obama is conflicted on his race and religion. The Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services is a man who thinks he's a woman. On and on it goes with the left. The country suffers due to their inner turmoil.

Impeachment is too good for what the dems are doing to our country.

To bad the Senate has to be involved.

About as much chance of passing a proper balanced budget out of the house and into the senate as they do of getting a conviction on impeachment.

It shocks me how much people take for granted in America. As if we are too big to fail, while we are failing spectacularly in front of everyone.

We are far gone from the complacency stage, we've passed apathy, and now on the end of dependency. Bondage is next.
