got some of the freedom brand number 2s. First time with them (can't find z's anywhere) and a few will not set. The trigger slips off. Anyone with knowledge of this? What components do I need too adjust? Any filing?

I had an issue with a FB2 with a bad spring. They would not stand behind it. I will never buy another.

I bought 4 dozen new No BS DP and still using 5+ year old Dukes.

I did dip in full metal jacket. But did scrap it off (wax) on dog/trigger and plate it sits on

Did you get the FB2s or the FB1s wit the push pull trigger and that you can just click to set them?

If it’s the FB 1s you can tighten the brass bolt/nut up a little and that will normally fix it. You can bend the hook/dog up and down to make them fire faster. I wouldn’t file anything down it’s much easier to bend the dog back to your liking. Sometimes the hook can be bent to far down and won’t allow the whole mechanism to latch right but.

I prefer the FB1s over Z traps. Once I played with the FB1s a little and got them tuned up I had less bait clean outs compared to the Z traps.

I'm sorry. Yes you are correct farmer. Are fb1s. The ones you just set with your palms.

Might try squeezing the dog eye a bit.
