Today the wife and kids went back to school and I was all alone with the day off. So I went out to the farm, and took the new tack for my daughter's horse to put in the trailer. Well I pulled him out placed a saddle on him to set up the new stuff and thought, the sun is out already have him caught and saddle on him might as well ride. We'll he is a little buddy sour to my wife's horse and thought today is the day we figure out you can be by yourself. So we took off at first he kept wanting to circle back but we lined out and had a nice ride. 3 hours in the saddle today and I pushed him through the roughest country i had on the farm with brush, woods, and vines. He has always been a ride behind my wife's horse with my daughter or the arena. I wanted to see if he what else he could do. I pointed he went no matter the country side I was glad to see that. Had a good time. [Linked Image]

I had to take a few pictures and send to the wife so she could be jealous..

Thanks

Crow I'm like you, wasn't big on horses but they are wearing on me and this one I have a bond with and trust. I don't trust them all, I'm not that great of a rider

Amazing to be comfortably in control of such a powerful animal. (like my wife has over me smile )
TV horses and riders fascinate me.
I'll stick to my dirt bike. It might throw me, but it don't bite or kick grin (yet, anyway)
Thanks again

Good job. A buddy broke horse is one of my least favorite feed burners.

I always figured Roy Rogers had it right when he said there’s nothing better for the inside of a man then the outside of a horse

A long relaxing ride on a good horse, ya I feel you on that one

Long rides in the bush make for a good day. Good communication with your ride, too. And…a tired horse is a good horse . grin

I imagine that can be a lot if fun. Don’t think about a dang thing....just being one with the animal.

I guess you get ..what you put in.

Sounds like a good afternoon

What makes a good horse is Miles and Hours under the saddle.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Good idea. My mule likes to roll in the mud takes an hour to get him cleaned up enough to put a saddle on him... maybe I'll ride him out tomorrow and go set some cables I have always wanted to do that. Do you ever trap off of yours?

Never have trapped off of him, just inconvenience of it. however he isn't scared of anything you shoot he right there by you, those cowboy gun competitions I almost want to see if I could shoot my .22 pistol off the top of him and do some of those competitions. I think trapping would be rather easy with him, probably could even pack off the back of him just a good natured horse..
