Got asked about these from a friend over in the UK. Said he notices people over here use alot of dual sticks or tripods in the case of night vision guys but never quad sticks. Apparently these are super common over the EU and parts of Africa especially for deer stalkers and not as complicated as they appear it seems. One supports the front one the back and you just kinda rock it like a rocking chair. Supposed to be able to open and set one up about as fast as regular sticks .He's badgering me pretty bad so imma make a set when I get home. Said all you need is some plant stakes old garden hose and four small bolts or rope. Apparently he made all his for like $20 or less this you can get really fancy super adjustable ones for up to $200 figure there has to be something to it with the way most tof these guys hunt so idk
So anyone play with these ?

Interesting. I've used a tripod in conjunction with a monopod on the butt on occasion. The main benefit of the tripod is having the gun at the ready without needing to have your hands on it. No need to tether to your big toe like the second picture above. However the quad sticks look like a lighter option with good stability.

I'd be interested in seeing some comparison groups shot off the quad pod vs. tripod.

I guess I can sort of understand it for across tall grass and I understand why guides would want people to use them on guided hunts
people pay big money to muck up the shot you put them on so you have to make it as picture perfect as you can with their limited ability

but how far is the guy in the woods really shooting and he has all those trees to toss a hand on and lay the rifle over the wrist
just seems like a lot of setup for the kind of hunting I do.

Grousewit is right that with practice you can make a lot of shots especially hasty sling

My Dad had Polio in 1944

from age 8 I was helping him build Or buy shooting sticks

Harris "H" model were the Best for sitting and phone.

We've never tried or seen that one ^^^ above

if you have time to get ready before a shot ...those would work.

i used The Primos trigger stick Tall to steady my shot from my .375 H& H in Alaska

I always used my walking stick as a shooting stick. It is important to get the elbow onto a knee if possible. The KISS rule does apply when calling .

Guess they’re a one shot deal. Don’t see much maneuvering for multiple shots. And I’m thinking of just night hunting for hogs or coyotes, not daytime deer hunting.
Cool concept though.

I have made a few pairs of these varmint Al style shooting sticks

https://www.varmintal.com/abifu.htm

great info
I made a few different heights but have yet to use them not at the range

I use 3 1/2 inch deck screws for the spikes pre drill , screw them in just to the end of the threads , cut the head off with the angle grinder

hasty sling transition to kneeling is really fast when you practice it 5 seconds to shot at 200 is doable

Pretty cool concept, and I can see where they would come in handy.
But ... I don't foresee Quigley using such contraptions smile
