So we are having our last Christmas get together tonight with the adopted family or 2nd family whatever you want to call it. Something was brought up about a charcuterie board one day and they started sending pictures of these big Ole fancy speads. So I seen a picture of a plate one day with summer sausage and crackers. So it became an inside joke. Well they asked what was getting made for dinner so I told them I'll do the board.. so I worked on one, I'm not a pro by no means and to get too fancy I think you'll need a bigger board rather than my cutting board. But this is what I did, if any of you guys/gals do the boards let see them.. [Linked Image]

I can’t count the boards I’ve made, wood that is. I leave the arrangements to someone with more artistic license.
Don’t forget Cowboy Etiquette: “ Fancily arranged food has had someone else’s fingers all over it”.

during covid the wife found a business giving charcutier board lessons , she thought it sounded fun so you went to the store and picked up this box kit with a bunch of items in it. for what you got it was quite reasonably priced.

it was sausage and cheese and crackers , it focused on local products that were sold at a discount so that people would get to try them, it was some good stuff
then it was a zoom call one night where the host had a few camera angles and showed you how to make the flowers and such.

it was tasty but I don't get so fancy as to do the flowers any more.

we do get some of the good local specialty sausages they are delicious.

Don't know about the fancy cutting and display but making hams, prosciutto, sausages and cheeses interests me. Would love to be able to stock a larder with good cold cuts and cheeses.

Oh but it’s so much more than meat and cheese! I’ve seen some really extravagant ones on the internet-machine! I made a little one for a work party and it had olives and herbs, of course meat and cheese, a few different kinds of sardines, dates, figs, pears, chutneys, and then I gypsie’d it up by adding triscuits cause I love em.
