Never had one but just got back from looking at new trucks. They told me at the toyota dealer that it has a lifetime warranty on drivetrain as long as I keep up on all the maintenance. Is this something new or just smoke and mirrors crap ?I have always been a chevy man but they have been haveing trouble with the lifters for years and haven`t really fixed it yet.Never bought a new truck and allways run them to death but not sure what to do with prices being what they are.

The lifetime warranties are only good if you have all maintenance done at the dealer forever.

can't speak to that specifically, but in my opinion, Toyota builds the most reliable vehicles. Honda is good, too.

But I'm sold on Toyota.

The warranty is likely through the dealer, read the fine print.

I read all the fine print but I still cann`t see them fixing a truck with 300000 on it.If I buy one I plan on running it for as long as I can.

Lifetime warranty = avg life of vehicle. Not your lifetime. Carry on.

My brother owns one. He gets grounded all the time because it has been taking 2 or more weeks to get an appointment for a service and he won't go over the allotted miles allowed.

my wife's Corolla had well over 300,000 miles on it and was still going. she got tired of looking at it and sold it.

I have a 2018 Tacoma except for the constant alarms, buzzer and squealing alerts it’s a great vehicle. The other bad things about it are the cab is loud, parts are expensive. To get the crawler package I had to get a ton of bells and whistles I did not need.

Good stuff, it starts runs drives fine no problems good MPG unless you’re pulling anything. Traction options like no other crawl control and locking rear end.

I think this is one of those, in YOUR lifetime, deals...meaning as long as YOU own the vechile they will honor it, but as soon as you sell/trade it its over. Anymore companies don't expect people to own things for very long. That's my uneducated guess anyway.

This may be but you will need to spend the $100 for the oil every 5000 instead of doing it yourself and all the "required" maintenance is performed at the dealer. which = big money when it needs to go somewhere every 5000 that isn't in your own garage. Example..... Uncle and I have the same exact vehicle right down to the color and trim package. Both 13's with mine having almost twice miles. Since new he has brought it in for service for all scheduled maintenance intervals. He has a 4 to 1 difference in repairs when you take away the consumables like brakes, hoops and oil. That's a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) of a down payment for the next vehicle.

I get that not everyone has the access or know-how to perform their own maintenance but just in oil and filter alone over 200000 miles is at minimum $2000. Juice isn't worth the squeeze IMHO

All of them say required maintenance. New timing chain 50,000 flush both differentials 75,000 radiator 70,000 transmission filter and new fluid 60,000. You know the stuff you brag about you ZNEVER have to do to a Toyota! That’s the fine print !!!
150 bucks an hour labor plus parts You miss any of those services warranty is void

I've owned four Toyota pickups. My wife drives a 4runner.

I still own two of the Tacomas (1997 and 2004). My mom drives one of them still, and both have over 300K miles. Never have I had a tranny issue with any toyota I have owned. I cannot say that about my RAMs.
I love the Tacomas, especially the early model ones. I bought a 2013 tacoma new and it was not near the truck the 97 or 04 is.

I had a tranny issue on my 2000 Tacoma. It was a manual 5 speed and it broke at around 550,00 miles. My 2010 Tundra has 302,000 with an automatic and I had to have the torque converter replaced at around 250,000 miles

I have a 2018 that I bought new. Every time I start it and put it in drive there is a loud bang at about three miles per hour. I brought it back to the dealership. They were able to duplicate it. I left the truck with them for two days. When I got the call to come pick it up they said the noise was from the a automatic emergency brake check that truck is programmed to perform at each start up. It is normal and not an issue. I said I didn't like and wanted my money back. I still the have truck. It has 17,000 on it. I don't like driving it and never have anybody with me because that noise is embarrassing. But I need a truck sometimes so there is sits. Never again will I buy a toy - ota.

I'll give you that that's not well written, but I'm sure you realize they aren't changing the entire transmission.
