Nessmuck OP trapper N Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 23,736 New Hampshire	Saw a guy in a boat...in a local 600 acre lake..yesterday. Haven't seen that at the end of December. Pretty disappointed right now It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

Last year at this time we had 15 inches of ice and 20 inches of snow which was normal. The week between Christmas and New Years, along with the World Championship Derby, are usually the biggest off season tourist times up here due to snowmobiling and skiing. Lots of businesses hurting this year. The Derby is Jan. 20 so there is still time for that but a lot of snowmobilers have lost enthusiasm for this season. http://www.usdebtclock.org/

KeithC trapper K Joined: May 2009 Posts: 15,857 Champaign County, Ohio.	We seldom get weight bearing ice here. I saw people in 2 boats fishing on the Great Miami River today. There was around 10 more people fishing from the bank. They were all within half a mile or so downstream of a sewage treatment plant. I wonder if the hot water congregates the fish there. I would not want to fish in that water. Keith
