Has anyone using the fiberglass rebar poles for beaver had any problems with them breaking or chewed by beaver?

I started using them last season. Haven’t had an issue. I found I like the 8’ better than the 10’. Shorter was stiffer and generally plenty long.

I would like to see how you are setting them up. Is it half inch? Thanks

Just started using them on a summer beaver job this year. No problems, and I didn't even need hip boots!!

Doesn't it break apart when diving it in tough ground

Never tried it in soil that I couldn't push it in far enough. I had concerns that I didn't get it in far enough, but I had no problem. Don't think I would pound on them though. Except with a rubber mallet.

They make a plastic cap that fits over the rod that can be pounded on.

I use fiberglass drowning rods and stakes. They are lighter to carry than metal rods and stakes. I like the 8 foot rods best too.

I dont like them, although I can see where they could have their place. At least where I mostly set, they are too flimsy to get into the hard bottoms a lot of the time. Also, you cant drag them or they splinter on the end. Never had one chewed on by a beaver

Personally , to me a waste of money.
A pain to haul around , and not a necessity .
For long hauls into the brush , ready made cable downers and an old feed sack worked wonders.
I do know never handle fiberglass rods a few years old with bare hands.
Neen there done that!
