I’ve heard all my life about premium northern castor. I’ve come to think any different area castor is what you need. I’ve had very good luck with Tennessee castor and some western Kentucky castor that looked like yellow baby poop when ground. What’s everyone else think? What about mixing in foreign castor with your local castor?

I agree with Beav. ....but hey, when it comes to trapping, fishing, hunting, overthinking things is what we do, right? LOL

Castor from a different colony of beaver will illicit a different response than if you use castor from family members in the same colony.
Same with Wolf-using scent from a different pack will illicit a different response than using scent from the same pack.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Some lure makers won’t use Northern castor in their formula. It’s quite a different smell because of diet.

Local Castor can be bent in smell slightly to mimic an outsider from the colony.
