Goldy and other successful cat guys, are you seeing any appreciable difference in the cats fur this year given the odd warm weather up until now?

Tomorrow I have a older trapper friend riding along,he hurt his shoulder so he's not getting out for cats or beaver this year.Roughly 20 years ago we trapped together,after 4 year's he said I went to fast for him,I get that now,he's 20 years older than me.I do need to slow down a little I guess and I have as each year catches up to me.So sorry Scott and Tim when you guys were up,but I wanted to try to get you guy's your first's.Next year I will slow down more,no track shoe's needed lol.Have a good rest of the evening,hope the critter's are on the move tonight,I really want #100.

I pulled everything. The only tracks I've seen since Monday were a couple single kittens, and with the snow disappearing and Christmas family functions coming up I decided to give it a break. I scouted other areas looking for one more nice tom but the only track I saw was an old medium sized one. I've put on a lot of miles walking, on four wheeler, and in my truck, and its amazing how many wolf tracks Ive seen, and how few deer tracks Ive seen. Deer are practically non-existent and I've been in some of the best deer habitat you'll ever find. Still only seen one fisher track too. Hopefully we'll get some snow before the season closes, but it sure doesnt look like it any time soon Last year the snow was too deep to get in the woods and this year there is NO snow and the swamps and ponds aren't even safe to walk on anymore. What a difference a year makes.
I have nothing clever to put here.

That is a nice cat!
Today I made the mistake of driving the line that we pulled on Saturday when the young guys were leaving.
Sure enough, one of the baits has a cat that looks like he took up residence there, so of course I had to set it up again.!

Saw three today,didn't shoot any of them,figured they made it this long into the season I'd let them live.Are you seeing any Spruce grouse I've seen only one,cool bird I've only shot one for mounting. I haven’t seen any spruce grouse now for maybe 15 years. Used to be plenty here. Last I saw was a hen at eye level maybe 2 1/2 feet to my right while stopped sitting on my quad. A male came out of nowhere and started dancing and stomping 2 feet in front of the machine. Then he hopped up on my front rack and tried to continue from there giving me the evil eye the entire time. She gradually flittered and walked away, he followed. Of course I didn’t have a camera with. No pressure from people where they always were, I think it is the explosion of owls and other raptors that has done them in. Osky
