I came upon this rock today that has no familiarity of the rock in the area. It is not quite the size of a volleyball but close to it. Just about completely round. I would imagine it is just a "leaver right there rock" and nothing special. I couldn't resist to pack it out. [Linked Image]

Those are pretty common around Glendive. I am told they were formed by something starting to roll down hill and clay sticking to it. The further they go the bigger they get. I have seen them in the river breaks, in sharp steep cuts, right in the bottom. I was rolling one down to the boat one time, and it got going so fast I could not keep up with. I did see it launch into the Missouri river though. It was about basket ball size or just over.

I have a beauty here, but camera battery is dead, will post later.
Many on the Fossil Forum report in thinking they have found a dinosaur egg (very rare).

This is the most symmetrical one I ever picked up (out of hundreds). The shale here is loaded with them.
I'm happy it was not as large as the one you have because I did have to carry it a ways smile

I don't know anything about the stone, but I'd lift it, maybe see how far I could throw it.

Thats the thing with strongman people, it's hard to take a walk in the wild without trying to pick up every big stone we see.
