g smith OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,305 Mt.	I am not sure about this Hatter business but I think the felt is the hot item . If so what is done with all this beaver hide ? Are the guard hairs still on the hide ? Purses ? Yuppie house slippers ? Would seem to be off little value without the felt . do they just remove whatever fur is left and make ????? what You can ride a fast horse slow but you can't ride a slow horse fast .

beaverpeeler trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 11,355 Oregon	My understanding is that for the felt market the pelt is run through a machine that cuts the pelt into strips and then shaves off the fur. So the leather is ruined in the process. My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
