Here’s the little bit I can pass along. I had 53 coon just skinned, all trapped and averaged $5.64 with 3 @ 12,
21 @ 8, 22 @ 4 and 7 @ 1. I got the Wisconsin rate rather than the Illinois rate because I had a very nice collection that was particularly well handled. Well okay. The Illinois rate was 8,4,2,1. I had 4 skinned beavers and 1 carcass beaver. I got $32 for 1 skinned, $28 for 1 skinned and the carcass one (47 lb) and $18 each for 2 skinned 20 pounders. A buddy had a beautiful 3X Black otter he got $30 for and $18 nose count on 38 carcass beavers. Only another 4 guys had way less than we had. The truck was there 20 minutes early because of very low turnout the stop before ours. I’d been lead to believe Groenwold wanted coon. Still way more than the FHA roulette. Tight chains for those that persevere!

So $96 for the 4 beavers? If so very decent.

$25 avg on green beaver ain't bad. Just a couple years back I was averaging about $14 on put up beaver that were mostly XL and larger.

Did Groeny make you an offer on your other furs which you
declined or did you just simply not bring them to the ratwagon ?

With the felt market I'm wondering why any 2 yr old or older beaver would only bring $10?

You are right Boco. The 10$ beaver was a small 2year old and probably would have stretched large . The rest were extra large, or blanket with 1 super b.

Sell ' um fast as you git'um cause we're not having record flash floods in the south like we've always had so i imagine the southern trappers are stacking them up like chord wood this fall/winter. Market be flooded out for the next 5 years.

Had 4 inches this weekend in southeast Georgia, from that low pressure that came up from the gulf.
