Which one of these would you guy prefer for coyote / fox trapping? They are around the same price that is why I am asking.

Thanks.

The 2 coil are probably plenty strong but I prefer the 4 coil in frozen ground. You can always get the 4 coil take two off until they get weak. You just have to get the spacers.

Sorry just meant the KO k-9 extreme Coyote 4 coil trap. The coyote K9 extreme has a larger jaw opening vs the junior. I just didn't spell out the last trap fully.

I guess should have added that I will be using this in the winter for coyotes, fox, and bobcats. I figured the 4 coil will be better for the freezing conditions and the KO Coyote would be better for bobcats since it has a bigger jaw spread. I am open to hear what you all think. Thank you

2 coil is enough for coyotes.

Never been around the Juniors, the regular k9 extremes are a heck of a trap and that larger jawspread will reach up higher through more snow when it snows over your traps. Would be my choice for coyotes, but if you have much for foxes they may be too big, they are really powerful and they are liable to grab a fox real high on the leg.

If you’re using them in winter, frozen hard ground, you’ll come to greatly appreciate the smaller trap.

IMO the full size extreme is overkill for coyotes too.

No 4 coils are needed for any fox or coyote work. A frozen down trap whether 4 coil or 2 coil, neither will fire once they are locked down by frost. Boone knows how to roll.

When there are rough conditions outside, and you have to chisel trap beds, it is much easier to work a smaller trap and use less trap bedding materials and cover. You learn to get your anti freeze method down pat, you will find that 2 coil traps are plenty strong to get the job done year round.

I have both the full size and the jr k9 extremes. The biggest thing for me about the bigger trap is weight and trap bed size. The full size k9 extreme is a hunk of metal for sure. It takes a lot of digging and if you’re using wax dirt it will take twice as much as say a mb550. But the k9 extreme is a for sure coyote hammer!!! They have a big pan and big kill area! Really a high quality trap!! I think I caught 40 or so coyotes in them last year and several feral hogs up to 100 lbs.

Agree. The junior is plenty of trap.

Just to be clear 4 coils don’t equate to holding power ! 4 coils equal firing power , they won’t overcome frozen down jaws but they will push through frozen ground. Most 2 coil coyote traps made today will hold a coyote , even by a couple of toes.

I'd get the Junior. I don't care much for monster traps even for coyotes. You never know what else you might catch.

4coil extreme. Bigger jaw spread and bigger pan means less misses.

4 coil really has nothing to do with holding power, it’s just to make the trap faster closing.

The no bs extreme is actually a slow closing trap even with 4 coils. But it’s got great lockup with 2 coils or 4.

I really like my 4 coiled Extremes, but I have very few fox. They don't take that much more waxed sand than a smaller trap,,

I like my Jr's. They hold lions just fine (which is the NO BS's biggest fault because its easier to release a lion if it pulls out before you check). I've also caught Grey fox with them without a ton of damage.

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

I'd get the jr's with the wire levers if it were me. The full size trap is HUGE!

What’s the benefit of the wire levers? Less area to freeze down? Lighter weight?
