I love hasenpfeffer, been forever since I made some. Rabbits are scarce around here anymore.

Eh...wot?

Its even better if you make it the right way wink
Whats on that plate is rabbit in a light gravy , not hasenpfeffer. But I am sure it tastes good as well.

My favorite meals "fried" rabbit in rich brown gravy with home-fries, stewed tomatoes and corn bread. I need to go find a few rarebits

Its my aunts recipe as best as I can remember it. contains vinegar, sugar, pickling spice, salt, cinnamon pepper and onion, with flour to thicken it up. It was generally kept in a big jar in the fridge. I like it.

Best slow roasted over an open fire. Basted with stone ground mustard, honey, olive oil, and thyme.

There are many variations on recipes for hasenpfeffer. Many are handed down through families. Most involve marinated, spiced rabbit. Hasenpfeffer=peppered hare. Hasenpfeffer is not a soup.
