Maybe everyone is to broke from buying food and can't afford Black Friday deals? I noticed when going through town headed to the woods yesterday morning that there wasn't near the early morning activity at the Walmart as in the past.

With "Black Friday" specials seemingly starting around Labor Day now there is nothing unique about the actual day anymore. I always figured Black Friday was like "opening day" for shoppers. A tradition of sorts...

With "Black Friday" specials seemingly starting around Labor Day now there is nothing unique about the actual day anymore. This is it. I work in retail and there really is no draw for black Friday anymore. Most of the black Friday deals can be had for at least a week. The few deals we had that were black Friday only weren't that great of deals. I think black Friday is just another thing that was killed by Covid. When I left work at 3pm yesterday we were at about 60% sales based on last year's number so I imagine we either made it, or came pretty close to meeting that number since we had 6 more hours to be open yet when I left.

About all the "deals" can be gotten on line. Stoors miss out on impulse buys and the I have to have it before its gone and so no one else can get it sales Very true And by offering these deals online they're shooting themselves in the foot

Got some Black Friday ads in the mail. Wasn't impressed with the prices. Takes more than 10-20% off to lure me into a store.
Remember as a kid we played army and you gave up the fort so the other side got it? Of course you don't. Little kids aren't that stupid.

Just curious if anyone went out Friday morning and observed the Number of people in the stores. My oldest son and daughter in law do it every year and they came back with some crazy stories this year. Started out at Menards at 6:00 am and the place was practically deserted. Cashiers standing at the checkouts without anyone there. Used to be long lines and this year the aisles were not even crowded. Couple other stores, the same thing. One store had an area roped off to organize the crowd waiting for the checkouts and there was nobody there, they just walked up to the checkout. They went to four stores and saw the same thing at all the stores. Bidenomics Heating fuel and food first....then Rent / mortgage....not much left aftah that
