Be careful out there in the morning. I'm going to try and make it out, but I'm getting a cold. Probably from the little germ factories that came over for Thanksgiving yesterday. Good luck everyone.

Pennsylvania lost its tradition of opening day on Monday. Used to be Saturday and Sunday before the opening day on Monday in the Northern Big Woods was for getting together at camp socializing, telling hunting stories, drinking beer, taking a few shots at a target next to camp with your rifle, watching some football if you had a TV and just plain relaxing. Now people have to go straight to camp on Friday and not much time to do much before you go to bed. Can still do that, just wait until Monday to hunt. Let those who want to hunt Saturday go hunting. The rest of us, we will hunt Saturday and then spend a few days at camp socializing, telling hunting stories and maybe having a drink or two. Not going to shoot at targets since our rifles are already zeroed.

I’m taking Mrs Brownie out tomorrow. Heated blind, fancy chairs, Coleman stove. We’re roughing it. She’s actually a pretty good shot….she never gets wound up when it’s time to pull the trigger. I think it’s because she doesn’t give a hoot if she misses. My wife is kinda the same way except not such a great shot. Sounds like you'll be warmer than us. Not bragging but i haven't had a deer tag since October 7th. Feels like another season ago, like i should be able to shoot another buck by now.

Good luck to everyone. I've strictly bow hunt myself and was fortunate enough to shoot a really nice 8 points in Archery season and a doe that I had processed and donated to my mother in law. Saving my last doe tag for late archery season. A couple of my buddies wives shot nice bucks this morning and the ones hubby also connected on a nice 8 this morning. We have a ton of standing corn yet and the farmers say it won't be cut before the end of rifle season so that should help the deer a bit since all of those properties do not allow deer driving and are all under purple paint now. Late archery should be a lot of fun just hoping for cold weather. Be safe everyone and have a good one.
Life's too short, enjoy everyday like it was your last.
