Hopefully five to 10. My plan is to trap in the trees until January then move down to the coast.
There was lots of wolverine tracks out there last year. And I have a camp out there [Linked Image]

Boco: what is the warm limit to frost scrapping. I rough skinned it and want to clean it up a bit with a frost scrape. Don't think we will be getting -28C any time soon.

I would say minus 25c minimum. And definitely out of the sun.If you try it warmer than that, the fat is still soft so no advantage.
Also you run the risk of putting a slash in the skin if you are pushing hard and the edge digs in and goes sideways.
I just got 3 new frost scrapers made up.
Got about 50 beaver,a wolf and some otters and fishers to frost scrape as soon as we get some good cold.

The local welder Tom made them.
Jim Gibb gave me a piece of special type of stainless steel used in the paper mills, given to him by Paul Millette, the guru of frostscraping.
I brought the steel to Tom and told him the size, shape and where to drill the holes. Then I bolted the new blades on the handles of my old worn out ones that Paul Millette gave me years ago.
Next time |I see Jim I will give him one.Jim is learning to frostscrape.

WOW, I would sure like to get one of them to mount for my room here, bought a couple pelts years ago but they did not tan out well, figure they were old when I got them.
If your willing to sale a nice one I'm interested in one, if you work them down and careful around the paws and such for the taxi work !
PM me if you are interested !
