Finally got a little time to hunt with my son, couple drives in one spot, really cold, went for a cup of coffee, driving into different spot and seen a rack buck beside the woods road, I told my son to let me out and go ahead and find a watch, I sat by a tree with my cup of coffee, 18 minutes in a beautiful eleven pointer gave me a shot. I couldn’t be more pleased, nice hunt, and a good eating buck, and I didn’t have to gut it.

We used to have a spike season here in Pa and that was fun. Now it is so serious, no group hunts, no fun stuff just way to serious to be fun anymore......j.k

Those are the kind of deer I had at the camp, mountain scrubs with spikes, some of them big, forks and small 5's and 6's. Alot of those 5/6's were 4 1/2 years old and up

I never hesitate with ones like that. If I have a tag , they go in the Bag.
Great deer and great story.

Stillwater is a little north of me, some nice bucks in that country, your son might have snow in the morning, it’s raining ice here now.
