Thats a stud for sure, a buck of a lifetime. Tell him congratulations. But better tell him to find a new wma to hunt next season, cause once the word gets out which one it came from, all of the Public Land Assasins will swarm that place.

Yep, that is a good one. I have had some drop tine bucks on my place in the past but never had an opportunity to take one.

This particular WMA already has tight quotas. Takes about 3 or 4 years of priority points to get selected.

One just like it got dropped yesterday on the WMA up here above the house only it didn't have the drop tine. Those were brought in from Mi. years ago so they still have that monster gene in them, where most of our state records come from.

I wouldn’t have minded if he didn’t put up the pic with the sign in it. Either way, his deer and his decision. Great buck! Bout time that someone without the last name of Yoder pulled a biggun out of there lol. True, but that area is already a "hard to get picked for" area. So, I doubt that buck will change it much. GON already has it on their website as he entered it in the Truck-Buck contest as a WMA entry. They didn't blot out the area name either... Btw...he hunts with the Yoders...says they "friends."

Those public land bucks get really smart...I was hunting tree company land back in the early 90's when a big boy came to the woodline next to a grown over fescue field.
That buck literally cat crawled through that 100 yd fescue field, offering "0" shot opportunities....Only his tines were clear, incredible act of survival.

Not really public ground in the sense it’s limited draw , do they have antler restrictions on this piece of ground or not but it’s a dandy deer Yes. But the restrictions are somewhat weak....15" outside spread OR 4pts on one side over an inch long. The entire county has antler restrictions. The longest running antler restrictions county in the state. That area of state rivals the midwest US in antler quality. The biggest WMA buck killed last season came off this area too, so the area is popular. But a limited quota.
