So $25 was for a blanket size beaver I suppose?
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

So $25 was for a blanket size beaver I suppose? I would say if they were 45 pounds or more they brought $25. They’re all eyeballed no real rhyme or reason and your mileage may vary.

Here you never can tell for sure because of late fall predation by wolves and cats. But the general amount of activity-size of house size of feedbed and activity at the dam, size of tracks also how long you have left the area untrapped should give you a good idea. In winter the size of the chimney on the house, and lack of ice where the entrance runs are are all indicitive of a mature colony of 8-12 beaver. Not sure how to tell in your area if others trap the same ground. Also once you start to trap a couple or 3 you will get an idea of the age class of animals you are getting. Here is a pic I took the other day on my line.I estimate 2 adult beaver and 3 or 4 Young of year at this house.Based on the last time I trapped here, size of house and size of feedbed and how fast it was put in.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Miss Aalaiya and I got two more this morning. That gave us 6 for our weekend trapping adventure. She can't wait to do it again with Papa. I'll wait till she can spend another weekend with us and go set a few again. This makes one of my most enjoyable weekends in a long long time

That’s what life is about Dale, not green paper. We got skunked today, this new pond is what I call a , spready outey pond, no real concentrated activity, no well defined crossover, flooded timber, it’s just spread out.

Pat looks like Gerry is keeping you busy. I’ve caught 16 so far, but pulled my traps now until the deer season ends. Killed a good 10 pt early mzloader season now looking for mr big. Osceola woods are pretty dead now , Bucks in the tending stage of the rut, about middle of next week the action should pick up until the end of season. Hoping for a little tracking snow, but you know Tug Hill it comes in feet not inches, so I have to be carful what I wish for. 😆
