Have a 2000 Sea Nymph, 16.5 deep vee, could use a paint job, new carpet, wires etc, just a going over. Trailer needs painted, new bearing. 20 hp Nissan runs ok, but would like power tilt when I take it out of the water, I’m getting old. Should I drop 4-6 thousand n go over this boat, new motor is $4200.00, trailer is $2500.00, redo job 4-6 thousand. Or do I sell it for $5000.00, buy new for $16-19 thousand. What do u guys think is best way. I’m 67 years old, may retire next year, I would fish 12-15 times on this boat.
My heart belongs to my family. My body belongs to my work. My soul belongs to the woods.

Find a new fishing partner and fish out of his boat.......

If you can swing it, buy a new one. Unless you like to tinker and fix stuff and need excuses not to go fishing
Let's go Brandon

I see 2 choices, NEW, if you can justify the cost and use it often. OR, basically keep what you got and spruce it up, strip the carpet and paint the floor, cheap, run new wiring for lights etc, cheap, paint the trailer, if you really want to and change the bearing, cheap... New motor, or more recent motor, not so cheap but offset by selling what you got... Boats need to float, not look pretty, a reliable motor trumps everything else.
