It will take them not having comfort. Electricity, food, time wasting distraction like sports, car racing, ect... untill then they will not care. No one wants to open that 3rd box. At that point they risk death and or prison. Don't even have to break a law for them to hunt you down like a terrorist just look at Jan 6th vs blm riots.

Exactly. People don't make hard choices when they are comfortable. They stick with the status quo. Even when the status quo sucks. The American revolution wasn't fought by the majority of the colonists, most of them weren't in favor of breaking away, something on the order of less than 20% did, though how that number was derived seems dubious to me.

Forcing us off the internet and into other forms of communication they can’t monitor will be a good thing.

If that's got you worried. All it will take to keep them not leaving the city and not moving around in larger groups and areas they completely control will be a hand full of marksman.

Don't forget many of them are not the good cops trying to do the right thing like in decades past. They sit outside a school and arrest the parents trying to get in when the kids were being killed.

They are trying to cover that with a prediction of complete failure of the web because of sun spots. Saying could go down for a few years even.
