I have heard that white turds are the result of the animal using the nutrients in it until they eat again and the old turd gets moved out. In the winter you can find them that only contain hair and bone fragments that could not be digested. That is why you rarely see one in the summer because food is more plentiful. Might be BS, but that is what I have always heard.

Used to when I deer hunted, I fed the bones to my dogs and their poop would turn white. Dog food and cooked grain, etc. did not. I may have been wrong but I always figured it had to do with calcium?

Excess calcium from eating bones from a kill. Anybody with a dog that chews bones know this.
