I never gut them anymore, hang them immediately, skin, bone out, pack in game bags and walk them out. If you want the heart and liver you grab that after your done boning out, tenderloins are available with a small slit under the ribs, I've even done them on the ground like you would a moose. Whole job is done in 30 minutes. Then go shoot another one.....Don't make things harder than you have to....

I knock the guts out of them, regardless of where they were shot. Nothing good comes from leaving the guts in. Method is almost exactly as danny clifton described. When it’s all out of the deer it’s pretty much one piece, unless I made a bad shot. One of the reasons that I prefer a high neck or head shot on deer. Haven’t done the gutless method because I seldom break deer down in the field.

It isn't difficult to remove the tenderloins without gutting the deer. The key to the no-gutting procedure is to do it right away. Bloating is not your friend.
If you hang the deer by the hind legs, the guts will naturally collect in the rib cage since the lungs are collapsed and the diaphragm is relaxed. This makes it easy to get at the tenderloins after you skin the hide off.

throat cutting is for when they are spined and going to take to long to expire , you help them along

as others pointed out heart stopped it basically does nothing

get in get the guts out you will dump all the blood possible when you cut the heart and lungs loose

unless your going gutless then just get at getting quarters and straps off

one other place throat cutting can help is wind pipe removal , with the throat cut the wind pipe pulls out easier

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I wasn’t going to comment on the throat cut, but.
I would rather shoot the thing in the head than go through the motions only to hear the messed up air flow and the blood.
Not into it at all.

Cut along the spine at the back of the ribs. Reach in and pull/cut them out.
