Sit in the woods like I am this evening and think to yourself man I have got to move west where there are less people?

I'm on my farm and hear sirens, traffic noise from miles away, and people with more mone than since rapping off ammo like they win a prize for the most misses.

There are just to many people this side of the Mississippi River.

I specifically remember when we moved back to Missouri in 2016 how crowded it made me feel. We lived in a town in North Dakota about 1200 people and could get out of town in about 2 minutes. We were about 45 minutes from a Walmart. Farms were about a mile or more apart and quite a few stretches of 3-5 miles between farms. Moving back to Missouri I felt congested and there was too many people. I have adapted and used to it again now - but I clearly remember that feeling of being crowded when we moved back. I do miss the drives in the country with miles between houses....I could stop in the road and talk to a rancher for hours and never have someone come down the road.

You need to tune them out.

When I’m in the stand I can hear farm equipment, tug and barge on the river, the shooting range across the river and regular traffic. I still hear a bunch of wildlife in there too. lol

I agree, tune it out…..I have a lot of that same stuff going on near me too but I try to put it at the back of my mind and just see and hear the animals and their noises around me.

You could always move to maine, hardly anyone lives there in the winter.

It does seem a bit crowded sometimes. I can hear the highway noise most of the places I hunt.

Used to be farms mostly around my area until a Dutchman started buying land then subdivided a acerage of each 1/4. Now we got city out in the country. Like they say " wooden shoes wouldn't listen' or " you can tell a Dutchman but you can't tell him much".

It's what you get used to, I guess. I'm not an "eastern hunter", but I have similar observations. I live, hunt, and trap in a very rural area of east-central Idaho. However, I got used to hunting, fishing, and trapping in my airplane in interior Alaska. There, I never heard another engine; complete and utter isolation. I loved it. And that was the "norm". Now, I'm still spoiled, but from my house, I still hear an occasional pick-up truck, four-wheeler, or SxS going up the canyon on the dirt road a couple hundred yards from my house. Irritates me every time.

The light pollution at night when Fox hunting is pretty bad.

Don't even get me started there. Have a constant glow to my south due to louisville and my city moved to the country's gate, driveway outside house and barn lights. Guy must have a 600$ a month or more electric bill. I really should have got a loan and bought that 30 acres.

Hunting shows you tube videos and hunting magazines have given us a whole generation of self proclaimed experts They have a very low chance of telling you which way the wind is blowing unless they are looking at the latest version of some can't live without Eletronic gadget in their hand They know everything about anything but have never done anything that requires some power of reasoning to be successful I once . come-on a 20 something yeas old young man that was on
was on the roadside with a blown tire He was driving a Ford F150 It had all the add ons you can buy He did not now how to change a tire nor did he know where the jack was He truck was worth about $50000.00 and his knowledge of how to change a flat was not worth .50 dents I showed him where to find the jack and how it was positioned to use safety He ask if I would change his tire I had just started a 4 hour drive home from a 2 week archery hunting trip when I got home I needed to unpack my gear and be at work the next day at 5 am As I was climbing into my truck he was telling me he did not know how to do i. And would I please help him I did not have any pity for the guy .All of the gear and gadgets as nice as they are have made us into a society of non thinking fools Our ancestors made a living under some very hard conditions Making due and getting was a way of life Even today many people are very self sustained But a greater number do not know milk comes from a cow And the number 1 item in pork is a pig And the worst part is the fools are out producing the ones that still think things out by and ever increasing margins .
