That elk call from ELK in Mt. is a great call. Lot of critters hit the dirt with it. Remember when it first came out and I was on a trip withe the wife and kids and happened to find one in NW Oregon. Still have it. Don't use it as much as I use the ole green plastic w/ rubber band deer call. Been thru several of them.Great cow/ calf call sounds.Got my first one of them in Tama co. Iowa on my 29th b-day as a present from the wife. Have been to Gardner Mt. ELK sporting shop a couple time. It's right outside north enterence of Yellowstone NP. 81 y.o. now so my kids and grandkids have all my hunting stuff. Cancer really screws up my hunting.

Hunt with your Kids, not for them.

Yes it was a great hunt. When it started to bugle and to act like a bulldozer... it was very impressive and something I will never forget...just a great feeling to get him to respond.

I just tried posting some pics and for whatever reasons it's not happening. Not exactly sure what I am doing wrong.

A friend of mine drew a cow elk tag in the black hills of South Dakota. We found a spike with 5 cows around noon opening day. He made a great 75 yard shot and dropped a cow in her tracks. Great weather and a great hunt. [Linked Image]

Thanks for pics and stories all!! Sitting in the deer stand here in MN as I type this. Such different hunting from one area to the next. Just sitting here waiting for a buck having some oatmeal for brunch! Happy trapping! ScottW [Linked Image]
