I know there's a ton of guys from Wisconsin one here, so I figure maybe someone can give me some helpful information. I mount my own deer heads (personal deer only)and I have always taken the capes to wolf river tannery in shiocton but they just called me and said that they are closed and need everyone to pick up their hides that they currently have. The hide that they have is from my sons first gun deer and I want to mount it but I do not know of anywhere else remotely local to take the cape to be tanned for the mount. Someday I want to learn to tan my own but I do not want to do that on this particular deer since it's my sons first one and would really hate to screw it up on him. Sorry can't be of much help here, I haven't had a hide tanned in quite some time. You might ask whom they (Wolf River) are recommending when you pick up your hide.

Fvwc, thank you for the reply but...Wild game finishing--I will not use them for anything as they lost a coyote hide on my father 2 years ago and instead of admitting it right away they tried to give him a young small coyote hide instead and once my dad produced a picture of the dead coyote compared to the hide he was given the owner finally decided to just pay my father $100 and admit it was lost.

Could contact Middle Creek Tannery in Superior to see if they do that
