I’m looking at an 07 Phazer, 500 cc 4 stroke, 3200 miles. Any pitfalls with this machine from all you snow machine experts. The main use will be cruising snowed in roads. Thanks for your input.

Yamaha always made good stuff for the most part.

The lasting brands all make pretty good machines these days and a 500 is enough size for one adult.
For me it’s about track width and length, for northern MN. I went to a minimum of 144” track length last one I bought and what a beauty in deeper untouched snow as you describe.

The exhaust comes out the back of the seat on those, so if you try and haul anything on the platform on the tunnel it will either melt it, or at the least make it smell very strongly of exhaust. Looked at a similar year long track for the wife, and didn't buy it due to the design of the exhaust. Otherwise they are a good enough machine, if a little high geared for my uses. You don't mention which version (there are several versions of the Phazer those years) I would be looking for the long track with reverse if I was looking at getting one.
