The older 33s are probably the easiest thing to teach a kid with and still be stout enough to haul in an occasional hog. I still loath the day they started putting so much plastic in them.

make you wonder were they just cleaning out grandpas house or fixing to move.
seems odd to just toss out a bunch of poles and reels

Can't beat an old 33.. never became a fan of the 202. But hey its free no complaints and I would bring them home as well.

The Zebco 202 was probably the best $1.99 reel made when I was a pup.
Providing wild fur to the industry at below the cost of production for over 50 years.
Mostly carbon neutral since 1948.

seems odd to just toss out a bunch of poles and reels They were moving and everything is free to them so they just tossed them. Also a bunch of rod holders for catfish get and a tripod except it has 4 legs. No idear

The Zebco 202 was probably the best $1.99 reel made when I was a pup. Don't know about the best, thing the 33 was the go to; but the 202 caught a lot, I mean a lot of fish, when I was a kid. Still take it out on the dock when I'm felling nostalgic.

I think I used the same 202 for at least 6 years when I was trying to grow up. Smokes were more important than a new reel. My little Sis still has hers and she's 63!

Carp were tough on the plastic gears of the 202 s Yes! 10lb catfish or carp would destroy a 202. It was a source of pride to have caught a fish big enough to have stripped out your Zebco. Now if you could afford it you had a dedicated 'big game' reel to handle those bigger fish you targeted. A Zebco 808. It had a fish on clicker on the side.
