I know, but I'll ask anyway...does anyone use cover scent for deer hunting?

No. I hunt with the wind in my favor, wash my clothes, take a shower.

Nope. It doesn't work. They proved it a long time ago.

I usually use skunk or fox pee. In my experience it works.

Multiple stands in the same areas to cover the most likely wind directions.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I've had good luck with skunk essence.

if they smell the cover scent they will smell you,

i have 6 different stands in a fairly small area. i can pretty much hunt the wind anytime.

Nope but I did use the wind to my advantage so it blew my sense in ahead of me and pushed the deer right to my 11 year old.

I use a bee smoker with wood chips and leaves to smoke all my clothes and pack.

I don't intentionally wear any cologne or strong smelling deodorant but about an hour in the stand without a cigarette is about all I can make it. I have shot more than my fair share of good buck both from the stand and on the ground. I always pay attention to the wind though and try to work into it when I can.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Rely on wind but nose jammer or straight vanilla extract is a cover scent hard to beat been using vanilla extract for over 40 years

I don’t use any cover scent, but am interested in trying to smoke my clothes for a season and see how that goes.

I play the wind, and don’t give a dang what I smell like or what my clothes smell like going in. Right now my hunting clothes are scattered in the kitchen, my bedroom floor, and laying on the floor in the entrance probably stomped on by all the kids walking in and out of the house.

Lots of times while I sit in the treestand I have fresh old spice deodorant on and gelled hair.

Posco, I achieved manhood (ok partial manhood) living in the windswept hills of Kansas. All those impressive buck pictures Yes Sir posts were taken with in 25-50 miles of my home.

There we hunted into the wind and even if you had bathed in kerosene, you could spot and stock or drive deer. If you made me hunt in a still climate, I'd probably try skunky first. Not only does it nor spook wildlife, it attracts many. Even my beloved rubbing posts are better with a skunky call lure. I use the skunky Catmando but a buddy tried skunky Back Breaker is just as good and that appeals to me because it is a Dobbins product.

Just my 2 cents anyway.
