What size steel cable do you guys use for anchors tying off etc? I found a local store with some serious clearance deals. I bought 276’ of 1/8” for $.10 a foot. But they had some bigger like 5/32 or 5/16 I can’t remember but I can swing back by if I need the bigger stuff

I use 1/8 7x7 cable for earth anchors & extensions 10' long. Coyote trapping mainly!

1/8 is as big as most trap supply stores carry for ferrules

That is a good deal on the cable as you can get from local store.

7x19 is good for extensions, lousy for snares.

Was thinking some like 6-8 extensions for DP traps. Will it work for that?

1/8 7x19 will work well for you.
Overall I believe 7x7 is a little better for my type of trapping.
I would not use 1x19 cable for a anchoring system. Because if it gets kinked badly it is going too break!

yes

X2 this cable is more flexible and less prone to kinking. It has the least chew resistance of the three most popular styles of cables but is best for extentions, drowners, cable stakes and that sort of thing.

That is perfect for a wide variety of applications. I use this also with drowning rigs for beaver.
