Being as here in WA and can only use cage traps or swim thrus , my understanding is Otters are curious critters and like ti investigate so wondering what you otter trappers think of using a cage trap at or near another toilet. Covering the cage with a contractors bag and baiting with fish also adding a small attractor to get its attention from across a small lake.
Yea I know it set up on active toilet the attractor might not be needed but wondering what others think of the rest of the idea. I think it would be similar to a bucket set but using a cage instead of a body grip trap
Thanks for replies and comments

Check out Comstock beaver/otter traps- https://comstockcustomcage.com/beaver-otter/. I have one of the Comstock Double Door Beaver Traps. Talk to Jim or his wife.

Note to self- Engage brain before opening mouth (or hitting the ENTER key/SUBMIT button).

Will be first to admit a Comstock would be nice addition to the supplies, however,,,,, the cost of shipping to WA is almost as much as the cost of the trap last time I talked to Jim

you should be making enough money on the job to have the client pay for the gear plus some

I don't think he needs a swim though for Hatchery work.
