I'm not a carpenter.

I have dried out rhododendron. I have stained them golden pecan and some multiple coats of urethane.

I want to attach them to my stair railing. They are a small diameter. What screw do I need?

Building supply store should have some trim screws, if it’s brittle, pre drill it.

That was my plan.

I guess what heads show the least is my question.

trim screws as newfox1 said. You can sink them a little and use a wood filler that matches to cover them.

Try those composite decking screws with the smaller heads.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Lots of small headed trim screws are available. Get torx screws. And i think most importantly if they are small and really dry, pre drill so you dont split them

Go to a lumber yard. Tell them>>>>>>GRK T10 head trim screw in the length you need. They make stainless also. But pre drill those as they'll snap off or strip out.

You can not stress that enough. Phillips head screws SUCK! Square head are ok, but torx are by far my favorites.

My recommendation also- I would look for GRK Trim Screws- predrill and use wax.
