I bought these 2 books from Mr Dobbins when was 15 years old; both signed. I spent countless hours studying every word, pix and drawing as kid want to catch more fur. 43 years later I still enjoy paging through them; takes me back to the 80’s when I was just figuring things out, both trapping and life in general. Raising my glass to Charlie & Paul in appreciation for the past, present, and future of our trapping fraternity.

Nice! That blue cover book is old. The newer ones have a brown cover.

I got the trap fastening one and my buddy bought the trap adjustment one from Charlie the first time i met him. That way we could swap books after reading the one we bought lol. I think those books were like 4.00 each back then. Funny all these years later those little 4.00 books have thousands of dollars worth of knowledge in them. I was 18 at the time and next month i'll be 58, where did the years go?

Jtrapper I have both of them I got them about 1992 /1994 While they are not about how to catch a certain animal using the ideas and methods explained perfectly clear in those books are the reason I was able to become a trapper that could consistently make good catches . Those 2 books turned the trapping light on in my head I had been trapping for about 15 years when I got those books But they really made me a greatly improved trapper .He was a great writer Even those 2 books where enjoyable reading And he was just a enjoyable person to have a conservation with also .I have several others also Some have his autograph others don. t But all where worth way more than what they cost me Good post !!

Those are 2 great books that made a big impact...Got a lot of people away from wire fasteners, thus improving hold rate, and tuning traps to increase catch rate.
