Can't turn it off. Only option is to ditch the phone, turn the phone off or keep it in a faraday bag.

They were actually advertising to people in bad situations that if they had a hidden phone, to be sure to have it turned off during test.

I wonder why they did that today ? If ever was attack on US. I guess communications would be high target . noone would know what go on

Nope , I turned mine off and stuck it in the microwave. I have my reasons.

Unless some baddie could detonate an EMP without being detected, there's still forms of communication that can't be hacked to be turned off.

We still do get test alerts usually during a good show at worst time possible.

Turned my phone off in advance and luckily never received it. They had announced it in advance. I'm distrustful of their true intentions.

My phone vibrated and the message showed up on the screen. There was no noise on mine.

I watch Gunsmoke and Bonanza pretty often, especially when I eat lunch. They are frequently disturbed by emergency tests.
