The knock on the carnivore diet is that it takes a while before your body can figure out what's going on. It's an extreme version of keto.

Was on it hard core for 2 months. Lost close to 20 lbs and physically felt better than I had for years. The old age join pain and muscle aches were just gone one morning. I then ran into a problem of getting my electrolyte right and my heart started racing. Electrolyte drinks and supplement didn't help. The only thing that worked was a banana. So I've been eating a banana and then carnivore for a month. Aches and pains came back but I'm still losing weight. Down about 25 lbs. When just on meat I had more energy than I had had for 20 years and was never hungry after the week break in period.

Your body is craving carbs.

This stuff helps with hunger and with sleep. Worked for me when I was dieting.

Read Roger Raglins book A Big Deal down 40 since February after a week it’s pretty easy and not straight protein. All diets that work are a lifestyle change that you stick with.

if you had been eating sugar/carbs you have to beat that addiction/detox , the carbs make you think you are staving when you don't have them.

embrace the suck for two weeks , try lots of coffee black or with creamer cream or half and half. even whole milk has a lot of carbs 12carbs per cup.

in a month you will have fully transitioned

try broth it helps drink broth like it is tea morning and afternoon

I am not strait carnivore , I eat vegetables , meat , cheese and being fall I will eat a few apples , during the summer I would eat a few good tomatoes.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

When we switched to a high protein/.fat diet, we found adding a pat of butter to the morning coffee helped a lot to avoid feeling hungry before lunch time. Seemed to help with BM regularity also.
Counting macros/calories can help also. Carbs are high calorie per gram, as you replace that with equal weight protein/fat, there are fewer calories per gram, so you have to add more grams. You don't have to weight your food, just get a general idea.
Stick with it, learn what your body likes and you'll see the benefits. 3 months in now and I am down 10ish pounds and feel great. I still eat a few carbs now and then.

Have been on it for almost a year. Have lost 45 pounds at lowest point but recently had to work out of town for a month and started eating things with carbs and sugar. Joint pain has returned and gained 8 pounds and feel pretty crappy . Now I am back home and can get back to regular diet the carb cravings are difficult to fight but will just have to suck through it . It does work and you will feel better but it takes about a week or two to detox from them . I do eat olives, pickles cabbage, green beans and a occasional potato on diet. Did this after back surgery to drop weight and help with inflammation.

I assure you, you aren't starving, you are going through carb withdrawals; seriously.
When I went off carbs for awhile, I had the overwhelming urge to run up to the grocery store for donuts, usually in the evening.
A couple of so-called experts think that alcoholism is merely a form of carb addiction, or that carb addiction is a big contributor to the urge to drink. Worth thinking about.

Agreed.....Was on the keto diet last yr and it was the same. I figured it was carb cravings,I have drank the coffee with butter and pure coconut but that didnt help. Coffee irritates my gut and makes me feel hungry. It also dehydrates me making me retain more water so I just refrain. My weight is dropping quickly again. Eating the pure butter helped the cravings.

Don't treat it as a diet. Its a lifestyle change. If you start and stop, you'll just bounce up and down.

im well aware of that..I lived in s.e. asia for many yrs and kept my weight down by just eating their diet. I could fly to usa for a month and gain 20 pounds and that wasnt eating mc d or fastfood. Just a difference in the foods there. Also no joint pain in s.s. asia. Thanks for the tips guys.
