Canada spends 1.29% of it's GDP on it's military budget. The U.S. spends 240% more than that of our GDP on our military budget, 3.1 % in 2023. Canadians need to raise their income taxes a LOT!

One of these days there just might be enough people with America's interest first and foremost, and actually hold the line on cutting spending. But we ain't there yet.

If Paul or the Mods were to eliminate all the political posts or anything related to politics, then most wouldn’t even be on here. Try posting something outdoors and most threads are on the second page before the end of the day. Post something political and it’ll have more than 2-3 pages of responses before the end of the day. That’s one of the reasons I dropped a lot of social media, nothing but whining and complaining over nothing they can fix.

And Canada is not paying it's fair share. Lucky you have a "Big Brother" next door to stick up for Canada. Two decades ago NATO members all agreed to spend at least 2% of member countries GDP on keeping peace on earth (HA)! Canada has yet to honor the commitments it made to do that. Canada needs to raise taxes to come up with the dough to honor promises made.

Well sure. Canada was a vassal state of the Common Wealth at the time. They were obligated to the common defense of the mother country and couldn't say no. A lot of the troops rescued from the Dunkirk beaches were Canadian.
When England bleeds, so does Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, etc....................They even got some Indians, (India) to die for them.

The U. S. hasn't been ancillary to England's directives since the late 1700s.

Canadians were in it from the start in 39 with old mother England.
The U S didn't start loosing people until the invasion of Guadalcanal in 42 and Africa in 43.
