Seldom, that is a dream come true for your son in law. I worked with a guy (we are both now retired) that was into trains. He had thousands and thousands of dollars invested into his collection. His basement was his train area. So I can see how people who like trains and have "Disposable" income would keep your son in law busy. Continued success.

LMAO! No, he comes by it naturally. He travels out to client's properties and takes photos of landscapes and buildings the client's point out that they want in their layouts. He also goes to client's local libraries and takes photos of scenes of the era the client ask for. That's more detail than this old "rod-jockey" has ever even considered! LOL

He's never had more than 2 full-time employees because he has a hard time finding anyone that can build little things with the detail he and the client demand. He's told me there are things in a layout that he never allows others to touch such as the little things Sir Rod asks for every year and the odd maintenance items for him.

The fella you see operating his train is the client. This particular client's primary residence is on a cruise ship with houses in Florida, Idaho, California, & Alaska and maybe a couple more scattered around oversees. He wants layouts built next in Idaho and than in California.
