For the 454 C it was a 300 grain flat lead nose on a full house load of what looked like H110 and H110 is what i used for my hand loads as well.

That's a thing of beauty! WRR most of my ballistics tests end up being done of live hogs instead of gels and I am fast becoming a wad cutter guy. Fot my fav little .357 mag I like jacketed soft points or HPs, but for a .44 or .45 penetration is not an issue and some fairly soft lead wad cutter stuff handles even the biggest of hogs.
I will and do hunt with them but like Davis Fur was mentioning back a while ago, a live hog in a snare that still has some line left to lunge on is like trying to take a seal from a polar bear. You can find yourself in a LOT of trouble and PDQ too. That is where a hand cannon shines and a load you are comfortable with is basically a must

I bought some of the buffalo bore 325gr hard cast 45lc for the to trying my Henry rifle. The 325gr load is longer than spec and won't cycle from the tube to the chamber. The load if too stout to comfortly shoot in my ruger Vaqquerro (pre 95). I've killed many deer with both the rifle and the revolver shooting "cowboy loads" in the rifle and Win Silvertip in the revolver. They have another lighter load and im wondering about those also.
