For anyone interested, here’s some pics of a small dried up man made watering hole where there’s an old bank den. There about a dozen holes all around the pond. Pond was about 40’ square. You can see the old feed bed. I saw a truck parked here a couple times last fall, probably the same fella that hit the pond a few miles north I mentioned in my other post in “trapping only”. Interesting to see what you might be trying to trap under the ice.

Looks like what we get down here, mostly bank dens. But no feed piles that big.

Looks like a bank den and a bunch of feed holes.

The wide entrance at the den is where we set multiple traps side by side and in series under the ice. [Linked Image]

You can clean out the house setting at the main wide entrance in a couple checks.

Holy smokes! At this watering hole it would’ve been a little easier. Could just set either side of the feed pile.
What’s up with the coragated metal sheet in the hole? Almost looks like a window well?

Feed holes?

It's where beaver will sit and feed. Usually littered with small sticks, minus the bark. Gives them a protected space to eat and not bothered by the kits or other half.

Corrugated metal sheet?
Are you talking about the ice layers?
We cut one hole and roll,no messing around.Very fast when setting 6-8 houses a day.
