It is hard to feel sorry for Liberty Safes.

Just bought a Liberty safe and am very pleased with it. I don't turn my back on good products because their politics don't agree with mine.

I make exceptions for companies that support anti-hunters and -trappers. Is Liberty one of those?

The company that owns them donates to Democrats. That says enough for me.

So if you are wrongly accused of a crime and the FBI calls liberty safe to get your combination, you are ok with that?

Seriously?

James kinda has a point. I bet if you dug into every companies politics there would be nobody left to do business with.

We have to do our best at spending our money with companies that share our values. It’s hard sometimes and can’t always be done but I try.

It's not about our politics James, it is about our privacy and security. I buy a safe to secure my personal private information. Liberty has a backdoor code in their safes that the purchaser was not informed of the code and then they give it out! That is a failure on their part on several levels. Glad you are happy with yours. I am shopping for a new safe and Liberty safes are off my list.

This country is addicted to outrage. Certain types on the left get all spun up just like certain types on the right. Basically the same type of person looking for some reason to get mad--looking for someone to cancel.

Liberty made a different decision that I would have made. The Feds had a warrant and were going to get into the safe one way or another. Regardless, Liberty fixed the issue going forward.

I don't recall the same outcome when Apple told the feds to pound sand when the feds tried to get them to give the back door code to get into a "terrorist" Apple account.

I guess if you have enough money and pull, you can get away with anything. Biden crime syndicate ring a bell?

So bc, go join aarp, buy all the bud light you want and get you another liberty safe. That way you will look better than the rest of us.

SMH!!

So, in a case like that you can bet the ACLU & SPLC will be absent. Bunch of left wing phonies!

Liberty only "fixed" the issue because of the justified outrage of their customer base. They didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts.

If Liberty safes have a digital keypad, and if owner can change or set the code themselves, then a good idea to have a master code that can be used to unlock it. Imagine if the thing was full of guns and the code was lost. You would have to destroy it to get in.

Their problem was they seem to be totally disconnected to their customer base. You would go down with the ship to keep that from FBI, and especially THIS FBI. That they don't already know this is the wonder.

BTW, FBI did manage to get into that i-phone, but had to pay some Israelis to hack into it. They didn't get it from Apple.

Now that all know of he existence of the code I have to wonder how long before it is hacked or leaked. Then it would just be a storage box without a lock.

All the safe I have seen have a master code. It's not advertised but they are there. Diles drift after time then finally fail to work. Dad has not been into his safe because of that for over 2 years. Lock Smith cost as much as the safe so if he ever gets a path cleared we are just going to take it outside and cut it open. Should not that 3 min to get into it. Probably a few more years before he cleans the stuff off the top and things out of the way so I can get it outside

Been seeing videos of people changing the locks to their liberty safe. Apparently there's aftermarket kits

The heck it's not about politics. See the post a few above this one, condemning Liberty's parent company for giving money to Democrats. That's not enough reason for me to boycott them, and I feel the same if they give money to Republicans. Donating to any political party is foolish, imho, unless you donate enough to buy an audience with your Congressional representatives.

Liberty could have fought the warrant in court. Their lawyer probably told them it would be a costly fight they'd probably lose.
