After Dad missed the whole opening weekend of hunting since he was up in Wisconsin, he was biting at the bit to get out. We put on a pile of miles and didn't see a singular prairie chicken which is quite odd for this area. We did manage to flush 3 sharpies within range. I missed on the single and doubled on a pair about 45 minutes later. Overall, not a lot happening but had a blast getting out with Dad!

Nice looking dog ya got there. I ordered me one of those ruffland kennel and just received it the other day .it’s the mid-size they make a medium but thought it was too big for my mountain Feist.how do you like yours? And congrats on the birds.I see a few every now and then around here.my kennel seems well made but have not used it yet.

I missed last year for the first time since 2006. I’ll be stumbling around up there in late October hopefully.

I like my kennel those far. I just bought mine a couple weeks ago. I like the feature that allows me to open up the door on either side (left or right).
I went with the large one just incase I ever buy a true full-sized lab. This border collie/lab mix has more than enough room though!

Feel free to message me if you head this direction. Maybe could get a hunt in together. Nebraska has some solid grouse/chicken numbers.

I guess I thought those were prairie chickens that’s what I see. So what all is the difference just the terrain they habit or are the grouse chicken the same ?

Prairie chickens have the bars across their chest. Grouse are a lot whiter chested.
