Met with my surgeon this afternoon to review a recent MRI. Complete tear with 2 cm separation. Got to have a cadaver patch. No PT for six weeks. No shooting this deer season.

If I don't get a deer this year, it will break my record of 52 straight years of at least one deer.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5262532/ this is the procedure

Think I’d get a new surgeon. Or follow orders after surgery this time. My left shoulder is now better than my right. Hoping my left hip turns out the same.

First four were over ten years ago. Two were before arthroscopic techniques. Think that I am just worn out. I will follow the surgeons instruction, or my wife will kick me out.

Go shoot the deer only live once even if you purchase a crossbow a kill is a kill

Charles good luck to you on your future surgery
You could alway come back and clip on NC12 with your car. Apparently sea oats must taste like Honey Nut Cheerios to them!

I've been thru it. Painful recovery and PT but when it's over mine was better than before. Do what they tell you to do and follow what the PT folks advise. Do something you shouldn't and you're gonna know! That being said, where there's a will, there is a way. If you can hunt with a handgun maybe give that a try. I hunted one year with a broken hand. Could do everything I needed to do except hang the critter. Took it to the locker that year.

Just livin' the dream...and paying full price for it!

Misbehaving after rotator surgery has a cumulative impact, and you pay for it at bedtime after every day.

Good luck Charles! I had my first surgery ever last February. 3 rotator cuff things were sewn back....one was screwed in place as well. If you've been through it several times before, you must be tough. I am a sissy and didn't like the PT stuff one bit, but am back to maybe 90+% now. It is about 2000% better than before the surgery.

Will be getting a cadaver patch. No PT for first six weeks. Going to be stiff I expect.

Chas., how is your shoulder doing? Mine has apparently broke loose again, at least that's what it feels like. Still way better than before surgery, but makes me wonder if I may need another go at patching things up.

I know of a couple guys who had rotator cuff surgery. They said the physical therapy was a bear.

Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

Ripped my shoulder last Turkey season we hunted a new place loaded with old fencing everywhere took a couple wicked falls. like to run and gun so I’m always on the go.

It’s been getting better slowly it’s about 60% healed now that’s the 3rd time just letting it heal on its own it’s just a slow process getting better. Working it is my therapy and it improves every month. I can put weight on it now that I couldn’t put on it before and hold a rifle and shoot it. Total extension is the next goal then strength training to build the muscle.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!
