Around fifty hours, but I can take off whenever I want.
By Bono's measure, I don't work any hours per week.

I average about 38 hours a week factoring in comp time and weekend work. I have way too much of my own stuff to get done to spend any more at work. My hobbies are usually more work but I am my own boss raising hogs, wrenching on tractors and trapping.
I don't get the pecker measuring contest of time spent at work. Make all that money and have no time to enjoy it. You can fall over dead tomorrow.

I have a for real honest question. I'm not picking on anyone and probably some of the stuff I do for work some of you might call a hobby or play time. But.... What the heck do you do with all your time when you only work 40 hours a week. Today was Sunday and I didn't leave till after lunch and just walked in a bit ago. That's right under 8 hours right there. Granted it's harvest but still Im too dumb to even imagine working 40 hours total in 7 days. I'm really good at doing nothing, lol. Definitely not one of those people that need to be doing something constantly. I can easily scroll the computer for several hours reading different news articles and forums, or sit on the couch with a good book for a couple hours. It depends on the season though too... in the spring I'll be fishing, and planting the garden and doing yard work projects. In the summer, not much, it's too hot but is a good time to get caught up on projects like painting a room, hanging pictures or other odds and ends things you keep meaning to do but never get to. Oh and canning. And never ending watering of the garden and flowers. Fall is the best time... hunting, mushrooming, fishing, then trapping starts, watching football, decorating for the holidays, etc. Winter here is nice too and trapping continues, deer hunting, working on outdoor projects, etc. Then spring, with planting the garden, fishing, mushroom hunting, any outdoor projects that need done before the heat gets here... there's always something to do!

Have an SC friend who owns a family textile business. Business is soft so they are working a four day week. Employee turnover and morale have never been better. Textile mills do not pay great wages, but workers are happier earning less and having a three-day weekend. Till the bills are due. People have figured out the less they work the more government benefits they receive.

That's right under 8 hours right there. Granted it's harvest but still Im too dumb to even imagine working 40 hours total in 7 days. In this heat, not a whole lot of anything. Right now I’m out on benefits so I’m up at 0550 every morning to come to the plantation to look for pigs or watch the dove fields. PT from 1000-1130. I make sure the AC in the house works until about 1900 then back out until about 2200, then home to shower and hit the rack…repeat each day. During normal work and cooler weather I’m up about the same time and if trapping I run the line to be back by 0750 to log in on the laptop and leave by 0800. Home by 1600 and back out shortly thereafter to reset traps or go hunt. I’m 55 and have 25yrs with the company. My working until they send me home days are long gone, lol. There comes a point where money isn’t as important as your time. I prefer being in the woods more than being at work. And I’m typing this sitting in a foldout chair scanning this hillside while waiting for a camera to go off letting me know pigs are there.
