sold the last bunch of the traps I had over at Savells place. Super glad I found a fella that I know will use some, probably sell some, dont know and dont care. I cant trap anymore, no need in holding on to the past. Every trap I had, which was well over 1200, paid for themselves time and time again before the communists passed a law about the live coyote market. I still made a killing with them, coyotes, cats, fox, otter and beaver. skinned the coon for the meat to sell, fur was worthless. I am good with that. glad someone that can use them has them and I am fairly sure a very respected member on here will wind up with some of them. Just know, I used them to the best of my ability, probably to my own demise. I am by no stretch a guru, but I have caught my share and then some of this fur or lack of fur down here.

I did the same thing a couple years ago. I got a good price and the buyer got a good price. He is a member on here. I always said that I never trapped for the money, but I guess it really did make a difference.; that and I just got too dang old to do it.

I know what you are saying Sir. I just got too beat up to fight it anymore. I made good money on the live market coyotes. An absolute killing on otter and cats for a couple of years. when the bottom fell out, I left the traps in the totes. except for beaver jobs and coyotes. It was a freaking blast for 40 years. I wouldnt trade those experiences for all the money in the world. They are priceless.

Mine have been gathering dust, for the most part, for 5 years. I guess I could still do it, physically, just no money in it. Hate to say it, but I'm not sure which is worse. frown

… J .. he sold them at my place to another hand…he was storing them in one of my dilapidated sheds… I see where that could be confusing the way it was worded lol

Sheep… sounds like y’all both got a good deal and you wasn’t lying about cutting down that half dead pear tree in order to get a truck in there lol … I’m going to smoke a pork butt with it

Insert profound nonsense here

That’s great to take that young man fishing! Savell you ever smoked with pear wood never have always hickory or pecan but fruit wood is good for pork .
